State of ferrets

Third time out this season and i am surprised at the state the ferrets get working the warrens, numbers are down this year i know but the conditions inside the warrens must be the worst they have had, did about 4 hrs yesterday i work 2 jills and my mate had 4 big hobs, took seven rabbits didnt use any nets as numbers so short, i know the ferrets are not bothered about mud and they love it, but i was thinking about what it must be like in there, have any of you noticed this.

Worked mine yesterday and he came home as clean as he went out......a few added bits of fur on him but thats a bonus. And some og the land i was working was boggy as feck on the foot. And my hob aint too small neither i was actually expecting him to come out totally smothered.

Do you wash yours off or just put then back in the hutch, it eventually comes off, I just put mine back in and it's nearly off from yesterday but it must be hard work fighting in that mud.

just give them a light rub with an old towel before you put them in the hutch DM

I was out today the warren holes were all full of sticks leaves and shit ? I all ways remember them being spotlas !! as this is my first year back after a few years out I can see a big change in and a round the warrens

Same mate warrens full of crap, rabbits that are left have moved up away from streams and drainage for obvious reasons.
