Johnboysxv 1
Hi guy's & girls I am new on here so hello to you all,Bit of background I have been shooting for over 15years shotgun & air gun ,mostly pigeon & pheasant & a bit of vermin, but was out yesterday with the 20b & my mate shouts woodcock I seen it coming through the thick tree line.i put the barrels up & she came down with 1 shot,I think it was one of my best shots as they move quite fast & I never used to be very good with a crossing bird but am starting to shot very well with my 20b now,now just got to taste it

Josh 'Belov' Eteson 0
Got my first two woodcocks a week ago, well chuffed especially since one was with the left and the other the right. Its an awesome feeling make sure you keep your pin feathers safe. If you want to keep them together put about an inch of another bigger feather (i used a pheasant) and push the two pin feathers in to the soft pithy bit. Should hold fine but some glue can help. engraver 44
Ive shot about 7-8 woodcock in my time but never know which is the pin feather does anyone know the proper feathers?????? I had the usual 10 beaters stood round plucking feathers saying "its that one mate"......"no it isnt its these here mate"....."Ill carry it for you mate".... Then you never get it back lol They go in the poachers pocket now along with any snipe. Best way to cook em inmo is spatchcock them...belisimo! AirgunGuy 362
Don't know if you fellas shoot Woodcock at night or not but the fields are full of them. Every time i'm out lamping i see loads gettting up well within range. Sent the dog down the beam on a few thinkin it was a rabbit. The dog's reaction is hilarious when they fly away

Its on the outside edge of the wing, about 1fith of the way down the outside, its only little but it does look a little out of place with the bi ones bellow it.
