Country Joe 1,411
I think they would be to heavy for me, maybe all right for the coldest of Days. But in warmer Winter days, you would boil up. Just head out with your net basket, Bag, ferret box, and spade. and you wont need a jacket. Quote Link to post
Carraghs Gem 1,675
Ive an old dutch army jacket... Its virtually indestructable want a german parka as had one nefore and its brilliant... Those greatcoats are a bit overkill Quote Link to post
Country Joe 1,411
Just go for the cheapest waxproof you can get, or get an old one from ebay, great for setting nets in thorn hedges. And if you get a cheap one, not Barbour, it doesn't matter if you get a few tears. Quote Link to post
Bunny Boiler 177
Checked shirt and a waxy. Thats my style. Waxy is lightish and great for the thorns. Pair of trousers and wax leggings. Winner. atb, BB Quote Link to post
foxtails 272
ye i normally wear an old pair of jeans then a pair of army trousers, camo or desert, a thin pair of socks then the real thick thermal socks, a t-shirt jumper and i put an army jacket again camo or desert in the bag, if its been raining a pair of wellies if not then boots, my big rucksack double bow back and the dog, and off i go but those black thorn hedges and black berry bushes can be a nightmare when trying to get in to set the nets, i always end up loosing rabbits,so i thought one of those greatcoats would do the job a good un Quote Link to post
Country Joe 1,411
I also wear cheap wax leggings, good for kneeling in mud, or thorn when setting purse nets. Edited January 6, 2013 by Country Joe Quote Link to post

The old romantic vision of a poacher from the 1800's ! I use usually use my heavy duty Barbour and a jack pike dog handlers vest. Plenty of big pockets, great for netting up, get 20 nets in each pocket plus finder, knife etc Quote Link to post
Country Joe 1,411
The vests look good, cheapest I have seen £29.95 with free post Ebay. might go for one. Quote Link to post
tegater 789
They are good Joe, and despite being Jack Pike, they are hard wearing. I have no complaints Quote Link to post
