deanflute 550 Posted January 5, 2013 Report Share Posted January 5, 2013 Met up with a couple of lads off her today, Brian and his lad Aidan. Between us we'd got 5 ferrets, my bitch Lola and their Harris hawk Holly (not too sure if that's her name but it sticks in my mind) Didn't get off to the best of starts with me realising I hadn't put my locator in my bag! Had a good mooch round and saw a few rabbits bumping around. Tried a few sets and got a couple of bolts early on, leaving the nets off and taking it in turns between the hawk and the dog for some sport, The hawk had a good flight just losing a rabbit through the thick bramble. carried on our walk down to the bank of a stream where there was a good number of sets, lola managed a good catch from the only bolt from here. Finished off bumping a few rabbits about but we only ended with the one, Plenty of rabbits on there but it just wasn't our day. Maybe in time when the dog and hawk can work together we'll get a few more. All in all a good morning out in great company A picture of Holly with the rabbit 1 Quote Link to post
