Sherlock 42
The dog only goes on the lead when I'm near property or near a high way, day or night. Quote Link to post
Bosun11 537
All my dogs are predominantly lamp dogs, depending on where we are is dependent as to whether I work off or on slip... I like working a dog 'off', sommat 'right' about it BUT it has many dangers and problems and the first sniff of doubt, they are on... Safe, rather than sorry.... Quote Link to post

Sometimes have one off at night to hunt up.In the day its always a good idea to have a dog close whilst others work away.Dogs hunting dont always see what they have flushed, and it can run right past you.
