Curtis101 1
Hi just thort i would start a thread as i have not yet. Does condition matter a considerable amount in the field? if so how do you no when your Lurcher/fielddog is in tip top condition other then the obvious there look do you no how to read your dog well? so you no of there physical condition how there running and when there blowing out? what food do you feed kibble/raw what works best, i no what works best for me but i'm asking for what works best for the running lurcher/greyhound. what kibble is best how much do you feed etc etc,Post some pictures of your condition'd Hounds . Gaz_1989 9,539
Of course the condition matters in the field. When unfit they blow out of there arse after a run. Raw all the way for me. Chicken mince, butchers scraps, offal, tripe, turkey necks, whole rabbit, lamb mince, lamb bones, brown bread, keepers mix, cod liver oil etc. 1 Quote Link to post

My bitch can look pretty good after a few weeks of good road walking, but she is far from lamp fit after that. Gaz Quote Link to post

morton 5,368
only one way to to get a dog fit and thats to run it fit Absolute rubbish,a dog needs conditioning before it ever enters a field or even runs hard. When the hard work is done,on the road, lane etc.[this is the part a lot of owners tend to skip because of the time and toil involved},then its time to fine tune the mutt in the field, the easy bit.To many take shortcuts to get a dog at its optimum condition, shortcuts risk injury to the mutt and a dog thats exercised that way rarely reaches the potential of a littermate that was conditioned in the best interest of the dog,not the owner. 2 Quote Link to post
