remi700 99
Any flooding locally around the time you lost the ducks? If they can get natural food from flood waters they'll go there own way, no amount of barley or wheat will hold them.

Yep that's it Remi, been feeding a flood where good numbers have been but with all the water the duck are spoilt for choice. At the moment I have a few mallard teal and wigeon holding but I can't believe that a good numb of Shelduck are dropping in ! They used to be a coastal duck but am seeing them more often inland nowerdays
Ija4569 0
Thanks I did think it might be mink or otter as I have seen them in the past.hopefully the floods will drop so they come back and I can get some shooting in before the end of season
remi700 99
Have a look around for them. Anywhere with flooded willow or alder trees are a good bet for mallard.

Froudy 40
Did the same thing had a good 60 ducks coming into feed until the other week when the farm 1 mile away decided to shoot a f*ck load now there's nothing.
raymond1 262
same all over and this year will prove to be a bad year for a lot of comercial shoots , ours is the worst in 20 years
bighairysasquatch 10
Ducks on the estate I live on are currently calling a huge puddle in the middle of a field home. They`re usually 1/2-3/4 of a mile away in an area where they`re fed by the keepers
Ija4569 0
Hi everyone thanks for the comments. Due to the cold and snow they are back stronger than ever so good shooting. Happy days.
