Non FAC Gunpower Stealth Owners Vital Read!!

Recommended Posts

Hi All

Just thought I would post to let people know of a recent experience of mine, and if they have the same air rifle hopefully they can avoid a potentially nasty situation if they don't hold a FAC.

I have the Gunpower Stealth Non FAC model, been an excellent air rifle and I haven't really used much else since I got it it has been so good. Ridiculously accurate and light to carry, pre-charged zero recoil. Love it :)

Anyway, I noticed a few months ago it was behaving a bit erratically, it just didn't seem to be as accurate. Groupings were out during zero and it wasn't my shooting :p

Took it up to my local gunshop to see if they could help but they couldn't really do anything other than offer to check it out on the chronograph. Was shocked to find out it was putting out random power each shot!!

Sent it straight back to Gunpower as soon as I found out, who I have to say gave excellent customer service and fixed and returned it promptly even though I bought it several years ago.

Just thought I would let any other Non FAC Stealth owners know about this problem and would recommend to check your Gunpower on a chronograph if you haven't before so if you don't hold an FAC it doesn't cause you any problems if you have the same issue and it goes over 12ft/lbs.

When you get the FAC version of the rifle they put a screw you can adjust near the release valve on the air bottle, so you can adjust the power yourself.

Non FAC version they fix the power and put some kind of mechanism where the screw is to stop you adjusting it. From what I gather it was a mechanical / design flaw that can cause this to happen especially on the older rifles, it was not a maintenance issue. It seemed like it wasn't a freak one off as Gunpower seemed to know exactly what the problem was when I called them.

Just thought I would let others know considering the consequences you could potentially face if you happen to have the same problem and don't realise ;)
