Im just curious about the split stick, couldnt you just put your foot on his hind ? or am i missing something??

:cray:

It's like de-gloving a finger, the skin is joined to the rest of the tail, it doesn't just slide over the top of it! :)

The detail and reason is not easy to explain but if you watch someone or try yourself you will understand much better!

Even with the sticks you can pull and pull sometimes and then it just lets go, some are easy, same are a real struggle

debone the tail, stick the brush in a jam jar, top up with meths, shake and leave for a few weeks. Take it out and air dry. Thats all there is to it and it does work.

There is no need to wash the meths off.

So meths does work then?

yes mate, works no problem, and for some reason it doesnt even smell of meths or fox or anything once it has dried out.

Just make sure the tail insnt scunched into a tiny jam jar, so the meths can get all around it.

Normal size jam jar or honey jar will do it

i always used salt i think il try that

      Hello all.?
Just an update as it has been a while.I have been looking for a subsonic .22LR hollow point that shoots well from a cold clean bore and have recently started using RWS subs which do well, typically from the first shot..I have used a few different brands of subsonic H.P.s and they all group quite well after 5 or so fouling shots, but RWS like the cold clean bore, needless to say I am a happy and for me, decent shooting.?.I have used the RWS before in the old Annie 1416 DG and it was equally consistent in that rifle.
A couple of typical below all from a cold clean bore..My scope is a Hawke Vantage x2 -x7 32mm A.O. with illuminated reticle which is a great field scope but lacks magnification for target shooting so is sometimes difficult to deduce if a shot has been pulled, but I love the scope.
      Have a good weekend all.?

Well I got 2 unused table clamps and a need for stability.
Cant afford the new style tripods <on furlough pay>,so I thought make your own. So drill n tap m10x1.5 in the base of said bracket .
Cut 2 pieces 7.5x3.5cm steel plate and fix to clamp .Drill hole and fit split pin to stop wind out in turnscrew. Then cut leather patches to fit and bond with contact adhesive, allowing 24 hours  to cure and Bob's your job.
Stable, free and hands free atb

While you were playing with your new rifles I went and got me a 3" hatsan ford escort 12g and to be honest I am quite impressed!
I put 28, 29, 32 and 36 gram loads through it and home loads some of which were subsonic and it cycled the lot! And with no O ring present!
I eventually did put an O ring on it but it was to thick and just would not allow the hammer to strike the firing pin although the action was locked. It's quite a precise fit. I later fitted a smaller section ring and now it fires. The reason for the ring despite perfect function without one is that the barreled action is quite loose without it but with it it all snugs up nice.
The one stock adjuster made it a perfect fit for me too. As autos go it is a pleasant cyclic sensation too, not effecting aiming much at all. It's no lightweight but not ridiculous either.
No pictures as it's just a cheap auto and I have been busy building an arc to survive the floods!!
Now, just got to wait untill September and hope the new world order movement don't get a knee jerk law passed banning duck and goose shooting one day before the season!
Oh yes, no oil in the action at all !
