Not regularly as the smoker is used most times but if its impractical to use the smoker then I use the ferrets .... I bet you use my little mate "mouse" on them big stinky rats dont you Kenneth. . thats the perfect Fert for rats. . long,lean and a killing machine..lol. Quote Link to post

darkwood 41 Posted January 5, 2013 Report Share Posted January 5, 2013 ive never seen any one ratting with ferrets for yonks, we did loads of it many years ago .great sport once the ferrets learn thegame .It also got us lots of rabbiting permision some of which i still have 40 years on. but beware ferrets can die from rat bites often some time after the wound has healed Quote Link to post
pip1968 2,490 Posted January 6, 2013 Author Report Share Posted January 6, 2013 ive never seen any one ratting with ferrets for yonks, we did loads of it many years ago .great sport once the ferrets learn thegame .It also got us lots of rabbiting permision some of which i still have 40 years on. but beware ferrets can die from rat bites often some time after the wound has healed your right mate i lost a few over the years one that stands out for me was i got a call to get rid of some rats from under a garden shed.arrived at the house the dogs going ape shit around the shed gets them under control ad puts my gill in,rats start looking out but never bolted next thing the gill came flying out with its tail all fluffed up hissing and a huge gash on her neck right down to the bone,i didnt think she would survive.so thought fcuk that ran home got the big hob enterd him and he came running out with a bitten tail.the man who was with me had never seen anything like it.in the end the person whos shed it was told us to smash the floor of the shed as he wanted to get rid of it ,and in no time we got 3 very big rats but no young as we thought they were protecting them.i dont think i,ll ever see the likes of that again Quote Link to post
