Can anyone advise?

I have a Deben Mk1 15ft locator (and collar), however, the collar doesn't appear to be working. I've been told it's the collar that's at fault but I'm not entirely sure. The receiver makes a noise when turned on inide the house (interference I guess), but it doesn't pick up the transmitter. Anyway, will the new Mk3 and Mk3M collars work with my old grey Mk1 box? If so, how accurate are they? If the receiver then turns out to be faulty (and not the collar) I will still be able to use the Mk3 collar with a new Mk3 reciever.

As far as I know, mk1 collars will not work with mk3 box. Or, vice versa.

I have a mk 3 m collar n a mk 1 box they work together just a little out on depth but not alot

Thanks Willum. Roughly how far out is the accuracy? If it's only 6 inch out then that's not so bad. I presume it will still pin point the location (vertically), and that it's only the depth where the accuracy is lost?

My mk1 locator picks up my mk3 collar .....not sure about the depth readings being correct just know it does pick it up ok.

Mk1 picks up mk3 and mk3m just fine ,

i use a mk 3m collar and locator and find the depth is never accurate its always way less than what it says it is ! The deeper it is The more un accurate it is if it reads 8 feet it will be 6 feet but if it reads 2 feet it will only be 1 foot but when you have used it a few times you get used to it and can guess it accurately so its not realy any problem

Mark 1 boxes work with mark 3 collars but not other way around

Deben have stopped making the MK3 collar but there is always plenty for sale

on the forums or ebay.

But make sure it is a MK3 not a MK2 it must be grey not black
