Guest pip
Seeing as Mr Burns is "the " expert on Iish dog sport,i would like to ask him a simple question, 1.What are the rules of the Teastas Baeg 2.What are the rules of the Teastas Mor 3.Have you ever attended a trial or are your assumptions based on what YOU have read or heard. Please answer this to clear the air for all the Irish sports men who attended and ran these trials when they where legal,as from what i can gather your rantings about these trials are pure superstition, and casting a shadow over the legacy that these men and their dogs left. Either answer inteligently or apologise for spouting nonsense,Thankyou Quote Link to post

Guest pip
Macker the little i know about yourself i would say that if you read P Burns version of an Irish trial you would be a little red around the gills at least, this fella is continually trying to discredit the purpose of the trials the dogs used and the methods used, and ultimetley the men who attempted to breed and test dogs to a degree that Burns could not understand, ill let Burns give his version of events at a trial and then ill have my digging mate and father in law ,both of whom judged at these events give an accurate discription of a real Irish working dog trial, just let me add no bets where taken and the animals where not killed, and Glens where used but sparcely, the main dogs where staffs and wheatens, these events ended in the late 70s early and the working terrier world is a poorer place without em.Interested to hear P Burns view of the teastas beag These where Badger trials and i doubt very much if mr Burns has much experience of traditional hunting in this country PS mackers read what the clown wrote on his web site concerning the trials Quote Link to post
JELLYBEAN 0
Pip id be glad to to try set this p burns straight if he has any reals questions on trials ,my olde lad held the first licence for trials in southern ireland Quote Link to post
Guest pip
Great mate ive certificates here also glad you can help verify the truth of the events ,somehow i can t see Burns getting involved as he seems too arragant to admit hes wrong, ps JB do you mind the test when they through the rats in a pond and the dog had to race in and kill em interested to hear what Burns can say about this "test" If anyone wants to view P Burns lies on the "Strong dog trials"go to his web terrierman.com and scroll half way down to read the joke of an article,if theres any computer whizzez out there they could possibly put it up for all the Irish lads to get a laugh at Edited July 7, 2007 by pip Quote Link to post

jigsaw 11,863
Should bring back memories as I once was a fan of the trials, only got a few years out of it as they dissapeared rather quickly.Mr.Burns must paint an elaborate picture for all those that are unfamiliar with the trials. How points were marked, and how they were run.Him writing so elequently on the subject allready it shouldn,t be a problem......now should it Quote Link to post

Guest Haggler
If you knew what Patrick does for a living you wouldn't give him any shit at all. What he does...well I can't go there, but the bottom line is you don't want him hounding your ass. Haggler Quote Link to post
