I have a staffie/whippet X, probably 50/50 - she was a rescue so can't know for certain. What I do know is that she is not a "collie type" which is what the rescue put on her papers.

She's a great little dog, but very headstrong and with a very high prey drive. She would have been good on some (now illegal) quarry, because she is very strong, and won't back off, but she's no good on rabbits becaiuse she's only fast in a straight line. Good on rats though. There is no comparison to my staffie X and a beddy X I used to go out ferreting with. The beddy was fast, could go round corners, and had all the good attributes of my dog, with none of the bad ones.

I wouldn't recommend my mix for a working dog. She would have been great before the ban, as a specialist.

I think there are far better mixes for an all-round dog - deerhound X for one. Saluki X for another.

Don't know Taz think it all depends on the dog, i have a rescue bull x whippet and she can move when she wants to, although she cant do tight turns

for bushing and ferreting shes a great little dog, marks well on both fur and feather, she can be head strong but does listen

she never gives up, if she had 4 legs she would do a lot better, but saying that she does keep up with my beddie x

and they both work well together as a team.

You seen some shit ones then?

I haven't got one so no need to defend them unnecessarily.

I've seen 3 from the same litter (Bull, Whip, Grey) and they really impressed me.

A mate has got a 3/4 grey 1/4 bull which is a cracking all rounder aswell.

Any dog can have grit and determination. They're not special to me anymore as they are too heavy for what I want. As for what bulls I've had I had a cracking little rescue bitch half x and her son from a 5/8 3/8 jabba, have also had from Reece's billy. They are good dogs for the right job but I now prefer my racy stuff. I can't comment on bull whippets however as never had one but I assume they are just as head strong heavy and can't turn.

They can be as heavy or light as you want.

A mate has got a whippet/grey with 1/8 bull in her.

She is as fast as you would ever need and turns on a sixpence.
