Rainmaker 7
Did we miss something? Does the council over the water have statutory powers to remove and euthanase dogs? Adding clauses to a tenancy agreement (agree or move out), I can envision - even though it could be challenged in court - but being able to enter premises and take away animals, or even in a public place?! What law's that coming under, then?
macker 5
i live in a counsil estate but own my house. so this law says that i can keep a staff english bull or any of the other eleven breeds which are banned but my neighbour which rents his house cant keep any of the banned breeds. sounds like discrimination to me and wont hold up in court. and what about the estates that are no go areas for garda dont think they will give a shit about dogs being well looked after but in rented houses. think they have better things to be doing. there is a lot of people getting their dogs attack trained now. and are usually sheapards and other type dogs. i think this would be unfair to the people with family pets under the new list of so called dangerous dogs more like they should keep an eye out for people that dont look after their dogs no matter what the breed. laws in this country are always made by people who know very little about what they are talking about. and they have ignored the irish kennel club saying that english bulls and staffs are good family pets as well as most of the other breeds. jacob 28
I intend to study law when I leave school, and if the Irish parliament tries to push through this law then I can foresee many court battles that will in my mind result in defeat for the Irish Parliament. No one person can be denied the right to own a animal, unless a court order states other wise, this may well be the route the that the parliament may eventually take, but that would take a line time to bring every person who owns such a breed before a judge for the hearing, this is a non runner and one that will be fought out in the court rooms of Ireland. Stand up for your rights. GO GET EM TIGER

Guest JDF
This country is well on the way to being run by out of touch wankers, but I have a solution, SEND EM ALL DOWN SOUTH We'd be only too glad to rehome em. i've always looked south with abit of envy, your lot in power always seemed abit more level headed than the numpties that ran the north, seems times are changing.
