Random Question coming up, Ive just showered Alfred for the first time... His pretty lazy when it comes to washing himself so forever has bits of dried mud stuck to his underside and inner rear legs.

His got out the bath dried him off and he had loads of little nicks/grazes on him, obviously from running through the bushes/long grass while out walking and while playing rough with the family staff.

I am yet to get any 'purple spray' so dont really have anything to hand just yet, am I okay to whack some savlon on them?

There is a product i had a free sample from my vets you can get it on Amazon now called Vetericyn spray, it kills 99% infection within 30 secs and promotes healing. i used for exactly what you were saying and its amaizing stuff, i also used on the dogs face, he skinned on barbed wire bout 10inches starting from under his eye and ending under his chin it was nearly healed in 48hrs cant rate the stuff more highly. from what i read alot of people using it on their horses to good effect. only downside is not the cheapest but it lasted me a while.

Hi Haley i have found that Active Manuka honey plus is ideal for open wounds its very effective it is more expensive than ordinary honey. I recommended it to KC of the site and he found it worked very well for his bitch. The honey contains healing properties. It can be bought in local supermarkets. Hope thats of some help. Good luck  If its possible to cover the woundsafter applying all the better and clean each day and re-apply.

Fecks sake the dog has a few scratches and nicks ... Just leave him be and he will lick clean any that bother him but my bet is they are not bothering him in the slightest ... Keep your creams and sprays and honey for when he really needs it ........

The clue could be in the opening post mate, eg- "he had loads of little nicks/grazes on him". Sounds like

nothing to worry about to me, as socks wrote, let the dog get on with it.
