As said backfilling would stop a wander, but as much time as you can spend there the better. Try getting your arms down the holes with the finder to maybee get another foot or so down. Entering another ferrt with a collar may help if there has been a problem with the collar, but may end up with the same problem, but tracking as you go might get you there. Good luck feller.

Yeah i would stick another ferret down, collared up and if she is stuck with a rabbit chances are the other ferret will track it down and give you a mark too dig

I would get back with the lamp if you can be easier to spot her wandering around and block the holes if you haven't all ready.

Maybe the collar failed for what ever reason or she went extra deep and got her self stuck on the wrong side of a dead rabbit

There's been a lot of rain could she be in water below ground? That's the only thing I could think of why I couldn't pick a trace up?

We lost one of our few weeks ago,same kind of ting we waited till dark but nothing so i left the ferret box by the hole and filled others in and in the morning there was one sleeping ferret so don't lose hope.

If you havent blocked the hole i would defiantly shine a lamp round the field tonight, next time if you can block all the burrows and leave one open and sink a hole a half barrel size with smooth sides and put a bit rabbit in it right up to the hole ,you should find her sitting in there in the morning , Failing that give the burrow another ferret tomorrow and i hope you get her back
