Whippet Marking On A Mooch

Recommended Posts

just recently had the pleasure of watching a 9 month old border collie mark sets from about 5 yards from the holes she just freezes like a pointer absolutely brilliant. she is a farm collie where i work so i couldnt use her or it might spoil her proper training. My little lurcher marks well but is a busy little dog and allways wants to mooch about

Thats how i like it Brimmer, he is a young dog, sometimes his marking can be so subtle, but i am beginning to understand.

Once saw a video on youtube of a marking dog, think it was a Whippet, it whined, then started digging, was down the bury snorting, yet its owner classed it as a marking dog, good enough to put on youtube. :hmm:

This is our knobhead of a dog Jed, (The one that recently broke his leg) doing what he does, its one of his faults, but a fault i can live with, and one that cannot be corrected.

I have found it in the more desperate of dogs, terrier like attitude.

You know where you stand with them, even though they will cause you a few problems along the way.

His brother is the polar oppoosite, nice steady head tilting and stops short of the holes like yours Joe. A pleasure to work with.

Even with faults, a dog that fills the truck every outing, and gives 100% on every rabbit would stay with me whatever the fault. (apart from yapping when running.)
