water bills

They will pass your bill over to a debt collection agency like any other utility company would, debt collectors are easily brushed off if you are determined not to pay.

This is another example of our infastructure (which our parents, grand parents etc, payed to install) being sold off to foriegn investors, who have no interest or loyalty to Britain.

My local water company is owned by a conglomerate of Malaysian business men who expect year on year profits and invest those profits into chains of luxury hotels in south east Asia.

Around 70% of all utilities get lost before they even reach the consumer. So they are not even re~investing in the infastructure.

Meanwhile it's p*ssing down again today. :whistling:

i know who they are pal ,......Y T L ,............if you work for the waterboard( W.W),.....you get cheap stays over in there hotels.........

and they are using our western sewer sytems and knowledge to install the systems over in there capital.........

years ago they said at a confrence that imagine a sewerage treatment works over here on a hot day , times it by 10 and that would be the smell in the capital city of malaysia,........all there sewage was running out into the main river what runs through the capital........this was a few years ago so i guess there sewage sytem is up graded and getting better all the time.......

yea we pay it for it in council tax. its another scam like the tv liscence.

its a grey area actually, cause a bit boring trivia for you,but its illegal under international law to deprive people of water or hinder there access.not even allowed to bomb seweage or water dams, came into force after ww2 and the dam busters. however i guess there argument we treat it and pump it that costs money. f**k all to stop you going to the reservoir with a bowser lol cant deprive you of water, its your human right

But when we are being charged an exorbitant rate (which must increase every year) and then the profits taken out of the country, it's not right.

Of course we should never have allowed these things to be sold off in the first place. The water system belonged to the British people, feckin politicians had no right to sell it !

Well, they used to cut them off,as years go I seen a newsletter from I think west Dorset council and they had repossessed a house from a tenant for rent arrears, who hadn't paid their water bill and been cut off,and there was a kitchen photo with sink piled with dirty plates an sides were covered in plastic mineral water bottles, where they been trying to wash up with supermarket bottled water.

Thought your water and sewage was all included in the poll tax

think they decided that they could squeeze more money out of us if it wasnt...........it may apply to other parts..........

it use to be collect by each local authority via rent payments and poll tax however this had to be changed when it was privatised, i can remember the amount of rent that was alloted to water and sewerage being £2.50 per week on the rent card  that was only 25 odd years ago the same bill is now £12 per week :hmm: have wages risen 5 fold in that time?? i think not. The anomalies get me, at one point i lived opposite the mother in law in an identical house and yet her bill was £150 a year less than mine :hmm:

If you are down and named as the legal occupier and stop paying they will eventually Persue you through the courts.

It may take years but they will catch up with you.

Firstly a CCJ but in the form of a charging order if you own the property. If not then they will try to deduct your earnings at source.

Failing that and depending on how large the debt is a high court writ will be granted and that's when the court bailiffs are sent.

They will not cut off your water supply but may reduce the amount supplied to the property. Ie turn the main tap down.

The cost to treat and provide water is unbeliveable. I work in the water industry and it would take a book to tell you about the treatment involved, from removing the colour, taste and bacteria etc to maintaining the infrastructure on catchment areas and reservoirs to piping it to your homes. And no, I don't get a discount on my bill, I pay the same as the next mug! Visit a treatment works if the offer comes up at an open day and you can see for yourselves
