Most crosses would take them but some better then others, to me its just down to the individual dog some just had the knack of pulling them..

being reading through 1 of my Xmas books lol , that big greyhounds with just a touch of Deerhound in them were the dogs for that job for many years. Makes sence some of the old coursing greys were big powerful dogs, and most greys have high prey drive, and that bit of deerhound for stamina and good feet+ coat, they must have been good dogs for hundreds of years

there is not a best cross for deer or anything else for that matter, some dogs simply cant do them, some dogs do them well and a very few dogs excel.
