Guest thebigdog
they should scrap all that shite of honouring people.unless its something really outstanding.or a normal person giving up most of thier life to help others.never been a believer in handing out honours for people doing a job they are well paid to do. Agree....even if i did something that warranted a knighthood they could stick it up there arse. Why would you want a Sir title infront of your name. You'd just sound like a dick using it. I totally agree i think it devalues what should be a great honour............no man/woman should be awarded such an honour simply for being good at their chosen sport......the prestige and glory of a trophy/medal and everything that go,s with that trophy/medal is reward enough...... Nobody will of heard of him but i was glad to see an old fella from the area Steve Hiser finally recognised this year for 40 odd years of service to boxing he,s been training young boys at the Fisher Club lads like Honeyghan and many others started with Steve a lovely ol boy..........perfect example really,an unknown old man whos put his life into something positive will go unnoticed......and Bradley Wiggins gets the same award for winning the Olympics this year............dont seem right to me.
scothunter 12,609
spot on,and nobody should hear about the majority of people getting an honour,if it was done properly.
