They are nice but I prefer prawns or lobster. Mind you, you can get a decent bag full in a 3-4 traps for free, so they're not to be sniffed at! Quote Link to post Share on other sites
desertdog 149 Posted February 17, 2013 Report Share Posted February 17, 2013 we trapped a chalk stream near haverhill a few years ago and were getting good catches daily,then my mate over trapped got greedy and were selling them,and it finished it,have,nt been there since,going to try the ivel and ouse this year. Carraghs Gem 1,675 Posted February 23, 2013 Report Share Posted February 23, 2013 a pal of mine says that he walks his local streams barefooted to get them, then feel for them with his feet for a crop/catch i had a few of him but they tasted of cheese Ive caught em by hand just lifting rocks and grabbing em by the shoulders. They swim pretty fast backwards but as long as you dont muddy up the water too much you'll be able to see where theyve moved to Quote Link to post Share on other sites
