WILF 47,344
No doubt about it mate, he would be a great signing for a club like us......as I have said before, quality is always quality. But, if we have to give someone their last few years retirement money then let it be someone who ( never mind what went on behind the scenes or with a section of fans) appreciates our club and the fans......no a bloke who has publicly stated that he would want to break the heart of fans who pay their hard earned to follow their club ( a club that the player in question has history with and which fostered his talent and put clothes on his back when he was a kid) Players come and go, supporters stay for ever.....they don't get to go to a better club, you don't have a choice, it's your club thick and thin ! We will still be there wether we sign him or not. Just to emphasise my point Wilf of how badly we treated the Lampard clan.......Harry as well...........have a little listen to this i used to go to these q & a meetings we all think we know better than our manager.........but how right was he.........no different to any other fans i guess we all think we know whats best for our club.......................if we knew then what we know now we would of treated this family with the respect they deserved.........( only my opinion of course....and i understand your feelings also ) Harry was bang on mate, no two ways about it. I certainly didn't dislike him when he plaid for us, I loved it when he scored against Leeds and ran over to do his dads turn round the flag.....I loved that whole crop of players. I liked Billich a lot when he plaid for us but when he went to Everton and came out with all that " small club" shite I lost all respect for him. Once you have stabbed your old club in the back then there is no coming back for me......totally understand about him being treated badly by the club and a section of silly fickle footie fans but to me, there's no other club in England with fans like ours or the sense of family in that ground, it's special and deserves better than being slagged. stewie 3,387
No one is slagging any one from any were following a big or famous club in the prem we live in the age of sky its brought football to the world as never before BUT. The ground support at certain clubs is still local well comutable local i can name people at the match that i dont know out side of football they know me from football. Genorations sit in the same seats stood their as. Kids and sit round about the same place , the away crowd is differant. Again never see them at home games but know there there lurcher keeps going on about the mighty reds etc etc good on him would he support them if they were sheff wed. , southhamton , leeds , the baggies nope. Just the glory attracted him not his heart or soul or the connection with the area or club. Carry on being a sky red lurch aint no problem. I was born a evertonion. And will die one every one knows it dont wear colours or have a tattoe. Every one knows when your a blue. The lack of a smile the grumpy reply but go back for more till the day that i die we have been at the bottom more often than not been knocked out of trophys ive never forgot. But the away train to. London is allways full Its not about the wining its all about the pride 1878 and the great cattrick side its all about the history and all the days gone by the old worn out staduim the st end and it cry. " AD RARTHER BE A PAKI THAN A RED ". Lol Your right mate.....your lucky your born in a big football's city.....just unlucky it Liverpool lol lol
