chartpolski 23,911
He has got away for years abusing match officials, and got away again with it against Newcastle. But is he now past his best, and relying on his reputation, his aging team and Man U's position as one of the greatest clubs in football history ?? Scholes, Giggs, Ferdinand, are way past their best, who is going to replace them ? It looked like panic when ole' red nose attacked Pardew and Newcastle, calling them "a wee team in the North East" !! Seems to me he is worried about his and his teams future, even though they are clear at the top of the Premier, there seems to be cracks apearing when a useless Newcastle team can put three past them at Old Trafford ! Cheers.
AirgunGuy 362
You're askin if he's past his best then sayin that they're clear at the top....think you've answered your own question
Malt 379
They are a wee team in the north east when you look at their history compared to some of the teams in the north west and London, what was the last trophy they won Charts? No, I think he was a little out of order with the 'wee club' bit, but then again you've got to look at the whole statement and take it in context.. The fact that this is big news just illustrates his point about anything to do with United being plastered all over the news while things like Pardew shoving an official didn't get nearly as much coverage. That's what was meant, it was the same as when Benitez said that Everton was a small club.. ..but it wouldn't be football if folk didn't cherry pick words and phrases out of statements to take offence at at will, we all do it! I know they are clear at the top, as I said; but is this his last hurrah ? He seems to be panicking, last week he accused a player of attempted murder for kicking a ball at Van Persie; this week he is ranting at match officials, again, and slagging another Premiership Team ! Even Wenger has questioned what he's up to. Cheers.

And even though I support Newcastle, this has nothing to do with the team I support, it was a question about Sir Alex, in particular and Man U in general ! Cheers. AirgunGuy 362
When Wenger, Pardew and co achieve what he's acheived then maybe they can question him....but you're right....he can be outspoken when there's no need I remember him winning the Scottish Cup with Aberdeen then goin on tv and criticising his players and saying he was ashamed of the performance

I'm no MU fan but it will be a sad loss when he hangs up his hair dryer lol.

Aye right, so you'd have still posted this tonight if Fergie hadn't called Newcastle a 'wee club from the north east?' Fergie has been picking similar teams all season yet you chose tonight of all nights to post a thread that suggests he's loosing the plot and then say its got nothing to do with you being a Magpie? Maybe you think he's having his Keegan moment mate, would you 'love it?'

Actualy, I'm "urbane" enough to have posted the thread even if he had called Spurs a "wee team from London" or Everton a "wee team from Liverpool" or 'Villa a "wee team from the Midlands" !! He has made himself look like a fool in the last week or two, and I feel a man of his stature and achievment shouldn't be mocked, as he is certainly being at the moment ! But unfortunately it's all of his own making. Cheers.
