howsshefrom 32
i know this might have been done before but what is the strangest thing you have found or seen when out digging? the strangest thing that happened to me was when i arrived at a hole we put a black dog in, the dog was in for 10 minutes or so barking away and the next thing a white mongrel looking russell comes out and runs down the field, we were also miles from any house or farm..The fox then bolted and was dispatched by shot gun.. 1 Quote Link to post

rick12345 181
Mate recently had his black dog drag a dead fox out of an earth. This fox had a leg amputated, the wound was still shaved where it was operated on. 1 Quote Link to post

coldweld 65
Was not digging but sat in a duck hide on a slope, i kept slideing down the slope untill i found something to push my foot onto. Two weeks later i was in the same hide and looked at my rest ! F*** me it was a BOMB. Turns out the are was a bomb practice range in the war and it was an inert concrete filled one. Why the farmer told us after i had been kicking it for an hour in the dark . Quote Link to post
wirral countryman 2,110
I dug up a bronze/metal roman bowl from out of an earth in a field by chester,it was dated as ad150=ad300 by the chester museum on roman artefacts,it was valued at 300 pound and was promptly sold to a collector, when I dug it up I just threw it in my old gamebag and forgot about it untill months later,I thought it was just a bit of scrap untill I looked at the pattern on the top and remembered seeing one very similar in the british museum, would'nt mind finding one of them every week,WM Quote Link to post
Bosun11 537
Half way up a mountain in Wales, miles from any decent river, two old fly fishing rods up against a tree by a big old earth, strange but feck it, we's here for other stuff! Dog in one hole and we's on. Went to check out another hole down the bank and peering in the end of a blue plastic tackle box is in view about 4 foot in. Gets it out to find it's full of pound coins, 700 to be exact... Never dug to a dog as fecking fast...!! Quote Link to post
