B.P.R 2,798 Posted December 29, 2012 Author Report Share Posted December 29, 2012 well! i tried to trim the top of the faulks off so the band groove was nearer the top as yous have pointes out. got most the way through an SNAP! top of the faulks snapped off. a little too much pressure from me i think. i wasnt liking the yacht varnish on it anyway not to worry. ill kniw better for next time off out with the dogs later so will look for another natural and start again. ive got some thera black and yellow. would any of these work good enough for my son to use. he can draw the yellow easily? heres the broken catty. B.P.R 2,798 Posted December 29, 2012 Author Report Share Posted December 29, 2012 got a cheap chinese catapukt through the post today. the tubed elastic on it was too strong for him so cut some theraband yellow and put them on. cut 1/2" wide. its a really rough job but fired 9.5mm steel balls no probem. this should do him to play around with. some rolled up tinfoil as ammo. B.P.R 2,798 Posted January 1, 2013 Author Report Share Posted January 1, 2013 had the catty i made for my lad soaking in turps all day as the yacht varnish was crap. stripped the varnish off snd filed the faulks and re sanded the catapult. treated it with linseed oil and it looks good. waitinf on bands arriving but will post pics once complete Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Got nothing and wanna test it today. havent got a clue. heard before the fancy bands came about thats what was used. wouldnt fancy it now though. a set of theraband gold with pouch is only £6 on ebay. B.P.R 2,798 Posted January 3, 2013 Author Report Share Posted January 3, 2013 bands arrived today off ebay. the guy cut me some single thera gold with pouch along with a set for my other natural. banded my lads catty up just now and very happy. its nice a small, bands are short and its slips into your pocket nice and easy. a proper poaching catapult. if it need to be chucked its cost about 2 quid to make. shoots good too. might keeo it for myself cheers lads.
