A few scalies from last night

Last night i had a trip out to a ratting permission a few miles from my house . I hadnt been shooting for a couple of weeks so really looked forward to a bit of ratting. There were definatley a few about as i spotted a couple as i pulled into the yard.

I decided on my usual tactics of walking around and stopping at known hot spots and shooting off the sticks which has worked well in the past. There was a full moon and every step i took made a squelch as its seriously waterlogged around the grain barns and maze of broken pallets/discarded building materials that make up this shoot plus the sugar beet has been lifted on the field that borders them so it was hard to be quiet!

I ended up with 15 kills but only retrieved 9 of them due to the difficulty in retrieving/finding the bodies. This shoot has always turned up huge rats as you can see from the pic.

yes the rifle is a .177 bsa Ultra. Good little rifle which ive been using for over a year now.
