What am i doing wrong!?!?

Went ferreting today down my local golfcourse done every burrow every hole i could find but not even a bolt, u would swear there is not a single rabbit there! But took my lamp down there a few days ago and they were everywhere you'd swear it was a different place? Is there something im missing?!?

Do you know for certain there's rabbits in the warrens you ran the ferrets through? even warrens that look well used can be empty most of the time.

Probably not missing anything. With the crap weather you guys have had over there maybe they have moved to higher ground due to water. I went out and done a few burrows the other day and was sure of a bag.....nothing ....fresh tracks, fresh droppings, holes were being used but no one at home lol. Its one of those things im afraid.

Are your ferrets just skimming the top rather than working the whole warren,and are you making lots of noise above ground?

Probebly not in them particular holes.

 

Try a few setts that are out of the water table with a nice bit of light cover over the top

 

Rabbits like the dry and will move out if there comfort is compromised

is there a lot of dry stone walls in your area. around here most of the rabbits live in the walls not warrens just a thought thats all mate

Im not 100% that rabbits stay there but there everywhere night loads of them my ferrets working propaly they just must be somewhere i dont know about lol

try the club house mate they usually go in there when its cold and wet

rabbits can travel over the fields in search for good grub too, their warren could be in surrounding fields ect.

Ive had this problem i put it down to over working the set i left it for a while went back and the set was back to normal atb kev
