PJWmids 35
What model Sony handycam do you use on your night vision setup? This will give me a guide as to what models I can use for my nv setup I'm looking to put together. Thanks for your input guys.
RAPID7LIAM 7
ive had a pc9-e but sold it for spares and repairs when it stopped recording and now have a pc5-e that seem identical apart from the batteries look abit smaller so i may need to get a backup battery. but got the same chip as the pc9-e so should be just as good as it, but you will need a decent ir laser or lamp to use with it(incase you never knew this), Liam.. treecreeper 1,136
iv got sr dcr 55, think you can use any with nightshot. the dcr32 has it aswell. dont know if some are better than others other than the size you may need high mounts. i just need a decent ir. Paulham 1
Sony dcr-sr35e and a HDR-cx6e The HDR is better because of the larger chip, is hd quality and takes flash memory cards. Both are good though. Paul
PJWmids 35
I read the larger 1/4 size chips are better, but do ones with smaller chip sizes like 1/6 or 1/8 still work. I won't be using the setup for distances over 25 yards really. Thanks for the model numbers I can use them to search on eBay and see what I can get cheap? If anyone is using any others please add them to the list.
Paulham 1
The hd can I mentioned above has a 1/2.9 chip size. The other has a 1/8 chip size. Both work well but the hd is better for recording and viewing back footage. Both will need a good infrared light source. Forget about lasers and use LED's for a cleaner image
