appletree318is 21
Could be wrong but that link says may 2005 on it so I don't think we need to worry just yet. The problem still lies with the person committing the crime same as thieves you can only slow them down if they want to rob somthing they will, same with knives, taken them away and they will use somthing else. AR177 588
Once they have banned everything what will we use to hunt? we will have to go back to sharpened sticks! ... until access to sharpened sticks becomes too common and they ban them too! Makes me laugh, more people & animals get killed by cars but I dont hear anyone wanting to ban them! ATB Adam 1 Quote Link to post
barrywhite 282
I like how in the very informative bbc with in a few lines they say ..assaults are committed impulsively prompted by alcohol and drugs ... so for a better world lets blunten all knives and get drugged up safely .12 inch screw drivers.Or broken bottles the weapons used for the murder of the poster boys some years back when tougher knife controls were brought in.What happens if you get pissed up and your beer comes in a bottle.I new of jimmy savils status some 15 years ago of off a van driver .So the bbc has its finger on the pulse Quote Link to post

More to the point...I use a long-bladed and very sharp knife to carve my Sunday roast beef joints and the Turkey we had this Christmas, as will a lot of people. What do they propose we use instead, a bloody fruit knife; a saw? I will not use an electric carving knife, you cannot do a proper job on boning joints, much beyond slicing. And who were these so-called chefs they consulted? Do they think EVERYONE is unable to cook properly and thus long knives are really surplus? They really must believe the populace of this country must be uneducated bloody savages utterly addicted to drugs and alcohol.. Some factions in society certainly are. Usually found on the Jeremy Kyle show. Why not start by doing something about them...Like locking them up a bit more often with proper sentences and clean them up and dry them out. Or is the problem of drugs and alcohol so bad now, not a bloody thing can be done, except keep sharp pointy things out of everyone's grasp? Pianoman My teeth , I saw a doccumentary on National Geographic about lost tribes and thats how they do it Jeremy Kyle ahh what a show! many a teabreak has been filled laughing at the misfortune and stupidity of others (Such is the dark military sense of humor).. I believe that along with the free hotel room, appearance fee and surplus alchohol they are provided with... they should also get a free sterilization! That would also help with the strain on welfare and nhs birth rates! not to mention cleaning up the gene pool ... have you seen some of the sets of teeth on that show! ... 4 people have 1 tooth to share !! But I digress.... there is a very good simpsons episode where everyone gives up there arms.. and then the aliens invade and take over the planet with a 2x4 with a nail in it! .. ATB Adam 1 Quote Link to post

Roy Williamson 15
As stated above, this link is over 7 years old, dont think we need any scaremongering to add to the general confusion over what MAY happen in Scotland. It may even be that registering or licencing air weapons may keep them out of the hands of the yobs and idiots that create all the bad press. But that is a different kettle of fish that may be best left alone Quote Link to post
