Kids spend to much time playing on one electronic game or other , but to be fair , would you want your kids playing on parks where theres used syringes & empty cider bottles knocking about , idiot

On the plus side there was loads of kids at the boxing day hunt meet i went to, all in new camo/tweeds, many with lurchers, terriers or gundogs. Shoots around the country will have teams of kids beating while off school. Our way of live is positive and healthy. If you worry that your local streets are empty of kids then make a pledge to get at least 1 extra kid out fishing/walking /mooching or hunting before the christmas holidays end. Kids from your family, a friend of your own kids or try and borrow one from in your street, just ask permission to borrow em first of course

Kids spend to much time playing on one electronic game or other , but to be fair , would you want your kids playing on parks where theres used syringes & empty cider bottles knocking about , idiot drivers , full of drugs & drink... pedophiles just waiting for there next victim .. the worlds full of bad things ..

I guess for any parent with kids under the age of 15 you have dilemma's as to how much freedom you give them  sadly a lot of parents dont do anything with there kids either, its easier to spend 5oo quid on some games console & dozons of games than go out with them & kick a ball about or go a bike ride

Yeh the media has us all frightened to let our kids go to the park. I doubt the world is a more dangerous place than when I was a kid. I used to get run over frequently or get in to fights.

Also if you did let your kids go to the park you'll probably find all the neighbours slagging you off behind your back calling you a bad parent...you just can't win.

Its easier for most parents to give there kids a a game to play on the telly compt and keep a eye on them its no like it was years ago you could wander the streets and play in the park to all hours

Times have changed since we were young. More cars for a start. We could play football, tig, rounders, hide n seek all on the street with hardly a car in sight. Now folk are giving up gardens to fit 3,4 cars in. I'd have loved the technology the kids have now. Imagine being able to talk to your pals on Facebook, or FaceTime them on iPad or play them at battleships without anyone needing to leave there own house. Only way we got to see our pals was by playing in the street and when you were in you were in. If you couldn't find them you couldn't text. If you were running late for your dinner cos of a great game of fitba you couldn't call yer mam..... You had to go home or suffer the slipper. No I think a balance is needed and that's down to the parents. Kids hibernate come the winter now, we didn't buy we needed too to see our mates. Now, they don't.

Its not just the kids addicted to this electrical hit. Ive got a few mates between 30 and 40 who own a console, who think nothing of having a day off just to play the latest game or even just que for hours to get a copy. Bizarre. I think thats part of the problem, the kids grow up seeing their young parents hammer it constantly, it becomes natural. So, because the parents are on it so much, they want their own. Bikes, scooters and such dont stand a chance til summer.
