Which PCP?

Recommended Posts

I would say HW100 without question an excellent piece of kit worth every penny and top German quality to boot, the best hunting PCP made IMHO. I would suggest though that you get over to your nearest HFT club and try out the various different rifles and see for yourself first hand. You'll find that is the best way to see what is the best rifle for you, by trying all of them. Then you can make an informed choice from your own personal experience and not the likes/dislikes of others.

Hi jimjam I keep my bottle in the porch as long as it is kept in a place with a stable temperature not too hot you should have no problems. My 7 litre cost just over £200 new they come with 5 years tes

I think i would defo go for the HW100 over the Webley.   Not played with the new Raider 10 yet but know the HW100 is fabulous.   For £750 - ish the HW100 as it all doesn't it?   Excellent magaz

I'm going to throw it out there, why?   Because I can..   No doubt the hw100 is a lovely looking gun and as all hw's I bet it's built to last (I have nothing against hw's, but I've never owned on

I use aa 410tdr. Is pretamper so many years old, bought second hand and I can hit 50p easily at 40 yards. Well happy with that. Use an ex firemans tank as its much lighter than a dive bottle and it's 2.5 years still on its first fill.

Only use the gun to hunt so if I go out, take 3-5 shots and come home with a couple of bunnies jobs a good un. I keep the tank in my wardrobe.

Get a Daystate Huntsman classic in .177,.20 or .22 and be sorted sor a very long time. Mor intital out lay but it will be money saved by the time you have bought others insted and kept swapping and losing money ! Daystate all the way, great product and great support. Also paired with a MTC scope you will have a brillient tool for both pest control and target shooting !

Excellent magazine system, good shot count, great looks, accurate as any Daystate hunting rifle on the market and well balanced.

I have however owned a BSA R10 mk2 in .22, I can confirm for a couple of quid less (70'ish) you'll be just as happy with it. Pellet on pellet accuracy out at 35-40 yards out of the box, a friend who has just purchased one is on 10 shots fired (at live quarry) 10 humane 1 shot kills (such potential in the right hands). What's more!!! If you ever get tired of its accuracy and 180 shots per charge, you can send it to mr Bowkett, and for a few pounds he will make it as good, if not better than the best pcp money can buy.

Just as a lasting thought, you can probably tell by my name that my ansestry isn't British, but when I was taught to shoot from a very early age, I was always taught to buy British if its in the budget, there are lots of reasons for this which we won't go into, but I've carried it with me through all 20+ years of shooting.

Support our economy lads, after all we live here.

R10s are ok, but IMO, ain't as good as the 100. I know three wo boys local who had a lot of problems with them. However one had it bowketed after just 2-3months of it being new, total was 215 quid inc delivery. It was ten times better , two of the three r10s were mk2s , one a mk1 with mk2 internals.
