lurchers " English shepherd dog " anyone tried them?

Recommended Posts

No joking aside lads

I am only making my point in showing they are better old Collie breeds for the job out there,

I would have one of these pups if I had the room but dont.

A stud dog would pay for him self 10 times over in know time, what with all these flyball collies breeders wanting to use them too.

If 1 or 2 of you put some cash in the pot you could buy one of these 2 dog pups before their gone!

Thats the last thing I have to say on them, now its down to you Collie lurcher breeders to get the line going.!

Looks like the neighbors old lab x alsation

tell ya what fella looking at those 2 above a know full well looks dont kill an alll that , but those have a look that thay have been polished up , bred for asthetics not purpose . Just my thoughts . atb bunnys.

i was just about to ask you what you thought of the mans idea an the dogs involved, you dont seem to mince ye words, an obviously speak from experience, thanks for that, says what i been thinking :D

not being funny kev, but if newbies to lurchers like myself who have worked lurchers for a wee while, give or take a week lol, an then guys like Chalkwarren an others on this thread, who have been doing the game for a lot longer are all thinking the same, surely we cant all be wrong :hmm:

Times are changing take it from me, you can spot a lurcher from a mile away but this type  has the look of a nice old collie

Don't look like any nice old collie I ever knew. Looks a lot like a breed bred for form not function. That my friend has been the downfall of many a working breed. Pretty dogs for pretty boys. Give me a rough old bitch any day.

Where you been? Times changed to be stealthy a few years ago.

When ban came in there was pic of a tidy 3/4 collie 1/4 grey in cmw and in a nostalgic or even romantic way it's a great idea, looking like a well worked hill collie,

But this isn't the pre 80,s plenty people keep pet working/sighthound breed dogs now,so it's easier to blend in,wear millets or FatFace finest and your just out for a stroll.

An if your wife/kids pet spaniel/terrier/mongrel flushes something towards your pet/rescue Lurcher/greyhound/whippet or saluki then it's accidental as its in their genes/ instinct.

if you want to be stealthy then you don't want the dog spending ten minutes coursing a rabbit etc,get the job done quickly an move on.

I wouldn't get a collie dog with barely enough greyhound blood to be classed as a Lurcher an I wouldn't pay £650 for a dog because it looks like a type about 30 year ago.nor want to buy it,wait 2 year to breed it then wait another year to get. Working pot filler.

Good point! a stealthy small type of upto 21" gets the the job done! just hope my pups make over 19" thats what I`ve been doing!
