IF ~ as seems quite probable, superficially at least ~ ye asking this question with a view to considerations of having a ferret mutilated for the sole reason that you, or someone 'close' to ye objects to the natural aroma of a male ferret? Please do the world the favour of removing yeself from the pool of would, while really shouldn't be, ferret keepers.

getting back to the question in hand it is supposed to CALM the aroma so to speek but will not completely stop it, personally id only have a ferret done if theres no other option, im sure hob and jill is just asking a curious question here

I think walking into a house that smells of cats is 100 times worse than ferrets and the aroma is only strong during the breeding season in my experience so wouldn't bother castrating just for that reason
