neil82 1,080
no, its not a spelling mistake, got a new perm and after having a good day on pheasants want some tips on plucking the **ckers. is it better to do when they are still warm, leave them to get cold, dip in hot water first, have been told that its easier if they have been hung for a few days but prefer the taste when they are pretty fresh but find them bad for tearing the skin, trying to dress them whole for roasting rather than just skinning the breasts and removing them from the carcass, anyone got some good tips please
The one 8,479
Just take a few feathers and support the bird slow and easy .
Paid 935
I do them fresh, dipped in hot water, there quite easy them. If i have a few, i do often cheat and just skin them, then wrap in bacon when cooking to keep them moist.

secretagentmole 1,701
Neil hang them overnight too, not too long, makes plucking easier, does not harm the taste!
paulus 26
hang them for a week and then just skin and cover in bacon and butter and stuff the inside with onions and stuffing
