zini 1,939
Hi lads, Well with LJ being at work today I was a little bored so thought that i would have a go at making my own catapult to use for hunting. Now the design i have used is a tried and tested design shown to me many years ago by my uncle Brian who is a game keeper in the Notts area and as used this design to kil many a quarry over the years. In the photo you will see the beautiful custom made VHTV knife and catapult that Rob from RK Knives and Catapults has made for me. That catapult is made from using a pressed wood and double Thera Band Gold elastics which produces 21 foot pounds of energy using a 10 mm steel ball and my 2 quick 45 minute home made ones made from a tree folk using Thera Band Black tubes which I purchased from E Bay for around £3 Now after testing both types today at 6 meters (my max range at the moment) and video in it for a later episode of VHTV I was very impressed with not only the one from Rob but also my own rough two which shot wonderfully and caused the same damage on targets as the lovely one from Rob did. Not bad for a total of around £7 to make. The steel ball shot true and straight and landed 9 out of 10 times where i wanted it to. If you want to see how these home made catapults shot along with Robs lovely one and maybe some other ones that I have being sent to me, then keep an eye out for the catapult episode of VHTV which will be released in the new year.
