Keeping the two boys interested in their ferreting, trapping shooting and fishing!! They are getting older and the chances of them getting in with the wrong crowd gets bigger all the time.

I will never force my way of life on them as I want them to grow up as their own individual self, but hopefully things will be ok

At the end of the day, my family is all that matters.

great attitude mate , ive managed to get my mrs nan down to stay with her tommorrow so i can follow the hounds............so i ask me two boys ,one age 8 and the other aged 11 if they want to come out on the quad as there meeting just down the road and neither want to come..............if i asked there friends they would jump at the chance ........i just cant work it out.....

they know i would love them to come and maybe im abit pushy in trying to get them to come............. the oldest one is obsessed with his x box on line talking to friends.........

i just cant see them changing..... they must have the other halfs city blood in them lol......

Turning down a chance on the quad.....bloody hell  Both my two wanted a quad for Christmas  they will have to be happy with a bag of chocalate money, a walnut and a tangerine

Seriously though, I think that is just the way kids go at times. I'm not really interested in footy, but the eldest is mad on Man United, so a few weeks ago we got a couple of tickets given to us, by someone the misses worked with. It was a sh*t game against Cluj, no atmosphere and bloody cold. But tommorow we have a couple of tickets for Man city v reading, right down at pitch level! Trouble for me is, its likely to be a much better game than the United game, with plenty of goals, again tickets given to us. He says he isnt going to cheer or even stand up if City score, despite the fact that I have told him he will get beaten up by the home fans if he doesnt   But getting back to the point, I just hope it is not sparking an interest that will take him away from the outdoor life, that I enjoy.

Probably not much chance of that happening tomorrow though

the best you can do is teach them when they want to learn, anymore than that will defeat the object, both of my lads are not interested at the minute 25 and 17 all beer and sex  but i know i taught them enough when they were younger that if they want to take it back up again they have the knowledge to do so if im here or not and thats all you can hope

Knowing a little bit about your situation mate I wish you the very best for 2013 ... You are going to need a lot of strength and understanding and patience with your 2 lads and yourself ... It will probably be the worst year that you will ever have to face and if you need a break away fella you are more than welcome to as many hunting trips up here as you want ...
