nasher1 258
Yes I use steel 4's & 5's and get on really well with it, been using it for the last two seasons keep the ranges sensible and it kills em no problem I had clean kills out to 45 yards this year. Quote Link to post
lksopener 105
No problems at all on the steel. Had some 28g 7.5's given and it was no less effective than the lead. Quote Link to post

The one 8,477
Same here why bother , if cost is a issue get a few guys together and buy your cartridges by the thousands Quote Link to post
ayrshiretaxidermy 29
Overkill and JJM are you talking from experience, i doubt it. Either that are your a duff shot. Ive used 28g 7.5 on pigeons for the last 2 years, and are as good as, if not better than lead. Had dead pigeons 50 yards on a regular basis. JJM, you especially should try them, as you can feed them to your birds, best grub you can get. £41 for 250, cant beat it. Quote Link to post
Nik_B 3,790
Anyone find they get bright tracer like sparks from steel? I find it really off putting. Quote Link to post
Millet 4,497
I used to pay for them so my mate could shoot pigeon to feed the hawk..as lead is highly poisionous..he used to get a few but his shot to kill ratio dropped quite a bit compared to using lead.. 1 Quote Link to post
