colliebird 1
Can you crosspost the following please to anyone you know: 1. Dognapping Epidemic Hampshire police are hunting an organised dognapping gang after several pedigree animals worth thousands of pounds were stolen. Three spaniels were stolen from separate properties in the space of 24 hours. Two cocker spaniels were snatched from their kennels in Owslebury near Winchester on Monday 31 December. Maisie is lean with a docked tail and has an orange/roan colour. Tia is chocolate coloured with a white chest flash. They are both microchipped. The previous night burglars broke into a home in Bullington near Andover and forced entry into a kennel. They stole Jarvis, a black and white cocker spaniel. There were also two incidents in November when two English Springer spaniels were stolen from Holbury near Fawley and another dog was held for ransom in Thornhill, near Southampton. A man was scared away from kennels in Beauworth, near Winchester on Sunday and a suspicious vehicle was seen near kennels at nearby Ovington on Monday. It has emerged that high-value pedigree and working dogs were being stolen across Hampshire on a regular basis earlier this year. If you are buying a dog, police advise that you make sure of its history; otherwise you might be buying stolen property unwittingly. For more information, see Daily Mail of 1 January 2013. NOTE; This is happening in many counties in the UK, not only in Hampshire
