If I could get my old cocker too mark he could play the trumpet for all I care

Alot of ferreting dogs yip and yap working rough land, never botherd me. MARKING HOLES, working cover ,holding netted rabbits, working with long nets, catching the escapees, being a usefull companion.

Has he shown no intrest as yet terry?

I think he has potential we had 2 pheasants and woodcock at the weekend. He sniffs the hell out of my longnets and is all over any dead rabbits. I just need to give him the right opportunity and I am sure the penny will drop. But he is such a hand full never walks all way runs non stop. He is very yappy and excitable so I struggle to find spots where I can take him and as rule there are never rabbits there. The spots that do have rabbits I take my ferreting mates and I could never inflict him on them. But I am sticking with him

Like someone else has already stated it makes no odds what's going on above ground because if your ferret is of any use the rabbits will bolt regardless. I used to keep several ferrets each with their own unique abilities. My very first ferret however would bolt rabbits if there was war above ground, this was due to his crave for hunting and catching them. Only down side to this of course is if he is successful in catching at ground youveither have a dig on or a couple hours wait for him to finish eating and sleeping. Atb
