The dog obviously thinks your a twat! sounds like its a good judge of character

You see kids why you need to watch when buying an adult dog. Nuggets like this might have been 'training' it

Don't think its the dogs ignorance that's to blame here.

punishing him wont make him come back you pal :nono: let me ask you a question? what if someone shouted you over and give you a slap, would you wanna come back to them again after theyd kicked the shite out of you?dont think you would, youd keep your distance. just like your dogs doing!!!!! as for not feeding him just because he hasnt done what you say, well thats just damn right wrong! heres another dog thats gunna end up on the slag heap due to incompetent owners like you, change the word TRAINING with PLAY and FUN and you might start seeing a little progress, try hiding from him in the field and running away from him when you call him and IF he does start coming back to you praise him n pet him make a fuss out of him good lad etc catch my drift???? if not like jonny2 said get another hobby and give the dog away to someone who knows what theyre doing!!! hope this helps

try not to get too pissed off when he does it i know its hard but they know when your angry with em and some wont come back because of this and be patient with em especially at this age.or try running after quarry yourself, if you can catch up with and rugby tackle a lurcher thats running away from you might get a few that way!

i was writing my post when you posted this exactly what i was thinking but you worded it better my mates the sme with his dog hot headed twat he is had a go at him a few times over remember once when he finally called it in he got on top of it and nutted it in the ribs sounds funny but i didnt think so at the time but what was funny was during the scuffle the dog lashed its foot out and hit him in the mouth and its nail cut his gum open so he was spitting blood all the way home.and his dogs shit because of him

The dog nearly getting knocked down is ignorance on your part not the dogs. You must have known he was like this. If I was you I'd spend as much time with him as possible. At weekends keep him on the lead ALL the time you are out with him. Go a big walk, he is only 6 months so you won't be hunting him. Keep him on the lead all the time he is out with you, master this first. Only let him off in an enclosed space he is familiar with, ideally your garden. Do this for 3 weeks then you can worry about recall. Right now the dog hasn't a clue of your purpose in its life and neither the f**k do I.
