I do sometimes wonder if some folk don`t rip into Plummer to stroke their own ego

Not saying all do, but I feell that some folk just love bringing him up to make themselves sound all guru and knowledgable.

Yeh, his books had some fibs in them, big deal, he was a writer.

Hands up all those who read his books while getting into the sport !

Hands up who prefers to listen to folk rip him up now thats he`s dead.!

we`ll all have differing views of people when i post on threads i`m as honest as i can be and sometimes hold back out of respect --- if we all came on blowing smoke up peoples arses thl would`nt be what it is ,if we did`nt spend the time responding to these threads the site would be full of for sale ads and what did you have for your tea type threads ..if these threads ar`nt wanted as soon as a someones name comes up it should be removed -- otherwise dont read it --

I can see your point Stig, but I do beleive what I`ve said,, some just want to make themseleves appear more knowledgable.

I prefer all opinions to be aired on THL,, you`re right, it would be boring without them

i enjoyed his books. as a young man. i keep and work his terriers and must admit there is good and bad in the breed. and the folk that keep em. but i'm not daft enough to believe all the hype. i believe his stockmanship left a lot to be desired. and you couldnt say he wouldnt do a bad turn. as he did that to more than one person that i know of.

i remember at one of the first lambourn shows bert gripton r.i.p.was talking about him and was ripping him to peices calling him every name under the sun .and none of it complimentry.

i think some plummer books went missing from his game fair stall i may be wrong but the story was bert had dumped em in a bin :D ........ i read his books as a youngster but a lot of the older terriermen of the day did`nt speak highley of him .... Edited by the_stig
