paulk73 151
Anyone using one at present? If so how is it? And has anyone used the handy cam set up and which is best? Please help. Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
The NS 50 is best in my mind, tried the handycam, it is too far back on the gun! With the NS 50 you can side mount it (put it so it is on the side of the scope not the top). I can pick rabbits out at over 60 metres using the NS50 (over cast night conditions). Only downside is the battery it is supplied with! it weighs a bleeding ton! Quote Link to post
davyt63 1,845
hi Paul i have used both! you will get to further distances with the NS 50 its a cracking unit but then i prefer to scope cam,as i can record Quote Link to post
Daz 7 563
Prefer ScopeCam like Davy to the NS50 as it's Cheaper and You can record with it without a DVR attached, But now have a Pulsar N550 which suits Me better. atvb Daz 7 Quote Link to post

Thanks More natural just like a Scope, And for airgun Ranges up to 55 yards the standard 4.5 x Mag is just right though you can get attachment to increase mag to 7.5 xmag. Plus i can parallax right down to 5 yards no problems so ideal for rats, Also the 940 nm Pulsar flashlight i got with it does not give out that tell tall Red dim light as it's in the higher ir spectrum. I managed to get Mine second hand for £553 with additional 940 nm Pulsar flashlight and postage inclusive. atvb Daz 7. Quote Link to post

porkycrook 466
Hi, I have the NS50 from NiteSite which i love. I go along with Secretagentmole about the battery, but i went down the road of buying a replacement (lightweight) battery off of E-Bay for about £20. I now use both batteries, i take both with me shooting. I use the heavyweight one when i am shooting from a static position (my shoot allows me some shooting from my car), then i use the lightweight one when walking. The other thing i have done because i found holding the gun/nite site a very strange position (combo of my bad back and bad eye sight), is to copy Si Pittaway and get a piece of alluminium tube of about 12" in length along with another scope to tube mounting. This now makes the gun position much better for me as it puts the NS50 screen 12" further forward. Hope this helps you decide. Quote Link to post
The Robin 12
I own a NS50 and found it very strange at first because of the shooting postion but i love it now. I can see past 50 yards when out with it which is plenty for me, the battery is a lump and i too bought a battery off e bay Here is my set up on my XTX'd R10 .177 Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
This post is addressed to The Robin and Porky Crook. Using Robin's photo. To get the display to a more natural position when stalking, simply twist the monitor and the camera 90 degrees to the left! This allows a more natural head position and does not affect performance negatively! Edited December 18, 2012 by secretagentmole Quote Link to post
