neil82 1,087
spent 5 years in a 30ft static, not bloody easy even tho it was cheap, best thing i did there was put a woodburner in, dried the place out like you would`nt believe, gas heating kicks out loads of moisture, had a dehumidifier running and pulled loads of water every day in winter with the gas fire burning, biggest PITA was the water freezing for weeks at a time, then in summer roasting by 8 am, would i go back, yes sir, 6 miles out in the sticks, no noise, no pissed idiots and shooting out of the bedroom window when it was raining or something to eat came too close, if you go down that route get the most modern van you can (better insulation) and fit a woodburner
JohnGalway 1,043
I considered it one time for a brief period right before my shooting buddy told me about his and his brothers expierence in them. The cold winter we got his brother and their family had to move back to the home place, despite heating on 24/7. They've since lined it with kingspan or whatever it's called, even the windows in the bedrooms. No thanks, not for me.
