Gaz_1989 9,539
What was he wormed with? I wormed my first pup with stuff from supermarkets and later realised that they don't work. Wormed with drontal plus and he was riddled. I now use advocate spot on every 3 months and a drontal plus a month after. If your confident its not worms then stick a photo up along with what meats and dry he gets and how often. What breed is he? Saluki Xs I know can struggle to hold weight. But even so with good grub you should be able to keep enough weight on a pup. Atb. Gaz
davey 310
Deerhound cross mate I use same wormer as my other dogs and you by the look of things . Alpha sporting pup and meats are venison lamb beef and chicken wings as big dog has the chicken carcass I think it's a growing thing but having run this type for years he is defo a bag of bones compared to others it might just be me but as a pup I like them to carry abit of wieght
albert64 1,882
what feed that works for one dog does'nt always work for another you want a feed that stays on the dog not passes through it if your sure that worms are;nt the culprit, i'd change it's food how many times a day are you feeding ? a growing pup needs fed 3 times a day
davey 310
Yeah 3 to 4 times I kept him on alpha as its what breeder used and I didn't want to upset him to much . His stalls are solid he is very active clear eyes really starting to think its just him !! Perhaps I'm looking to much into it going to try going to butchers tomorrow and get some fat of cuts ? Just thought might be this cold snap burning fat to keep warm ?? Ah who knows cheers for advise lads
skycat 6,174
A lot of Deerhound crosses look like hat racks until they stop growing upwards. Concentrate on getting plenty of red meat, fat and bone into him: better than a bag of cereals.
davey 310
Cheers skycat I'll run this bag out and as I say he gets plenty of red meats and chicken wings . Like you say think it's just him / pup thing
