Ah I just typed up a fair post asking what BADGER DIGGING WITH TERRIERS by David Harcombe was like then scrolled down abit and seen you've answered what I was going to ask so deleted it lol  .

Dig Deep, would you say its worth £20 rats?

I wouldn't mind reading about badger digging seeing as its not likely that I'll be doing any under this current law.

i had that book... i couldnt help feel that i was reading something out of primary school with all the big writing to fill space... but i have to give him his dues, from what i hear he had to take a bit of flack because of the badger laws... its just a pity he didnt put more effort into it! i think he admits somewhere in the first few pages that he wished he done a better job of it...

dh have said that the book was rushed but the man had the balls to stand up for us all and

write it .he even got him selfe in court over it

its an insight in to how things used to be before the stupid badger laws came into force

and as far as im concearnedthe most humane way to deal with badgers.

one day we may get a goverment with a bit of scence and let us do what we know best

you are one dodgy b*****d PM. you have as ked a few questions now regarding badgers when anyone into terriers with half a brain knows it is a 'touchy' subject. like pip said the law has been passed about twenty years so only foxes can be dug now. Also why did you specifically want to know about what happened to the 'chaz' dogs bottom lip on another post??? :hmm::hmm::hmm::hmm::hmm::hmm::hmm::hmm::hmm:

:good: Cheers, lads. I think, between ye, ye've just nicely encapsulated by proxy just what it is I've been trying to put my finger on for years now!

I too scratched up the cover price, at the time, and dutifully sent off for my own copy of ' The Book '. Got it. read it. Put it down, finished with " Oh. " as about my only thought on it.

Quite frankly, the only single bit of it I can remember now is the craic about when he took a Dog to the vet's and the vet wrote, on the Dogs sick note, something to the effect of; ' Could use a rest from the badgers for a bit. '. Something like that. Like; " Oh. ".

Lent my copy to a very good friend and, well ..... Never did bother to chase him for it back.

I think Dave himself has said he rushed the book, but the fact that Dave put his neck on the line and published the book to try and "enlighten" the masses (and ended up in court) as to the difference between digging and baiting and the role of the terrier/terrierman prior to the acts gets respect from me :notworthy:
