dankay123 33 Posted December 15, 2012 Report Share Posted December 15, 2012 just had a call from my permission telling me terrier lads after badgers were caught by police last night on my permission and now farmer doesnt want anyone at all hunting on there. i have only ever shot bunnies on there and never had any upset with him he just said he wants no one on. im gutted as it was my only shoot do know what to do now. might have to pack it all in Quote Link to post
Froudy 40 Posted December 15, 2012 Report Share Posted December 15, 2012 I would go round and see him and just explain that you've shot on the ground for so many years and never had any problems and you would love to carry on as it was your only permission and that it would be a shame to lose it over poachers. As I did when I temporarily lost a permission due to horses being spooked by what turned out to be a helicopter, call/text/visit to say you'll respect his wishes, and possibly plant the seed somehow that having you visiting regularly and being his eyes and ears could in fact help prevent a recurrence far more effectively... Failing that, either knock doors for more permission or, as you say, sell up if its not that big a deal for you would be my two cents pal. Quote Link to post

Papa g 14 Posted December 22, 2012 Report Share Posted December 22, 2012 Sorry to hear about your permission being revoked.I had the same thing happened to me some 5 yrs ago, but don't give up mate get some insurance- basc or similar if you don't have it already & knock a few doors try the local golf courses show them you're responsible it worked for me!
