pianoman 3,587
Hi there RAV and welcome here. Spring or PCP? What's wrong with the Huntsman? I've seen a real cracking accurate performance in .177 from these. Have a look at Weihrauch and Air Arms. They produce some lovely stuff for left-handers. Pianoman Quote Link to post
Rav 0
Hi pianoman thanks for the reply, I love everything about the huntsman except the accuracy I've always shot .177 this is my first .22 I am thinking of keeping it for the rats an get another pcp in .177 for longer distances. I do like the hw100 but as iam a lefty the action is only available as right handed. I ve never shot a airarms but [bANNED TEXT] I've seen they seem to lack in build qualtiy. So still stuck on [bANNED TEXT] to buy Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
Welcome to the section Rav, I am a bit lost with you post though . Your saying that you want a .177 for longer distances and better accuracy and are not happy with the Huntsman in .22. I'm sorry but I'm yet to find a .177 rifle that is more accurate than a .22 rifle. They will match each other especially if the range is known. Yes you need to do more work with a .22 and have a better understanding of different aim points but no way is a .177 more accurate than a .22 . If you can put a .22 pellet through the same hole as the previous one without making the hole any bigger then accuracy cannot be bettered in my book. I've shot and used a .22 Huntsman before the guy went berserk and smashed it up (another story) and it was pellet on pellet. Also the build of the Air Arms is very high quality and they make exceptional accurate rifles. There are plenty of lads in this section that shoot them and to very good standards too. Its not always the name of the rifle that makes for a accurate rifle but the man pulling the trigger. I think you would be better to try different pellets in the Huntsman's barrel mate first and once happy with a good grouping pellet then work on your knowledge of the aim points. There is a lot of satisfaction that comes from shooting .22 accurately. If your still not happy then think about changing rifle and calibre mate. Si. Quote Link to post
Rav 0
At the moment si iam struggling to get groupings less than inch at 30 yds in the prone pistion using a bipod it's not the odd flyer either it's most of the mag, is there a pellet brand that suits the huntsman or is each rifle individual? At the moment iam using cross man premiere. An as for distance iam finding no problems when ratting up 2 20 yds it's Jst when I try check my zero before shooting it seems that anything past 20 yds is not that accurate at all I will be trying different brands but it seems to be a bit expensive to buy a full tin to find ur rifle doesn't like the pellets. Iam not trying to run down the airarms but in the rifles I've handled (not shot) have felt of less quality than the huntsman for example Thanks for the reply si Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Yes each rifle / barrel will be different buddy. 1 inch groups at 30 yards isn't very good as you say mate. I would try some other quality pellet brands like RWS Super Field Air Arms Field Daystate Li's Webley Accupells With a correct matching pellet your Huntsman will 1 hole at 30 yards easily unless its broken and as a internal problem. Rav 0
Well hope it's not broke only shot x2 tins through it from new I think i will try different brand pellets. if it is the pellet causing the problem it could save me a lot of money Thanks again for the reply si Gav Quote Link to post
