I know what kind of cutting I'd do on the barrel of the 10/22 I attempted to zero for the postmans son, it's involve an angle grinder and a skip!

don't worry John getting gunsmith to cut it and screw cut it for £80

i had my cz452 bolt action, nickel, synthetic cut down and screw cut this year £40 :tongue2:

If it's a pissing contest I had a stainless centre fire barrel done correctly last week, for £25, after about 3 quoyes of £70 to £75.

To add to the initial argument, semi auto .22s are for having fun, great to stick a 25 or even 50 round banana clip on, but for serious bunny bashing a good bolt action every time.

I also wouldn't waste too much on a moderator for a rimfire, they don't need anything special and the results will be similare at all price ranges.

Aye   But yeh should have been telling him tae get a Cz452 stainless synthetic

Let him have the gun he likes. I think you will always shoot better with a gun your fond of than one that may be technically better in some respects. Mind you I will try a lighter rifle than my 452 v

Let him have the gun he likes. I think you will always shoot better with a gun your fond of than one that may be technically better in some respects. Mind you I will try a lighter rifle than my 452 varmint next time, but if I have gone for the lighter rifle I'd always wonder if I would have shot better with the heavier gun. We each need to live with our choices and learn from our own experience.

Well said Hallamrose. Why is your opinion better than someone else's. I personally prefer varmint barrels as the extra weight gives me a bit of extra stability. Yes it's heavier, but that's my choice.

We probably all know someone who tries to enforce their opinion on someone else.

Get what's right for you, shoot it, and enjoy it!!

he already agreed he wanted a light one, but he seen this one cheap a just jumped at it.

i tried to tell him to think about it more before going any further and yes said to him if you really like it and it suits your job go for it.

so i never forced my opinion on him as it was him who convinced me to get another .22

i was ask what the best fun .22 you can get.

if you know a better one than a ruger 10/22 please tell?

I have never bought a rifle for fun. I have always bought them to do a job

why not you not enjoy shooting?

i would buy a full auto machine gun if they were legal to buy. as i know i would have a ridiculous amount of fun with it.

:laugh) says it all really Geoff, and I don't want to fall out with you as I don't know you and I am sure you are a nice feller, but.......

Do you really need a semi auto. I mean are you that bad a shot or are you faced with some very dangerous bunnies!!

Having seen the killings of kids in America, Dunblane and the killing of adults in Hungerford, can you justify the need for semi autos or full autos.

Like many on here, I have a vast experience of HV full/ semi auto and seen the affects of them. Why as a hunter do you feel the need?

I am not against shooting, I love all forms if it, but lets help ourselves, help the sport!!

Cheers pal and no hard feelings!

no hard feeling at all.

i just like all aspects of shooting and if i could walk into a shop (like in America) and buy myself a full auto i would, but my intentions would be far from starting a massacre.

you could start a massacre with a pen knife its never the guns fault (yes i know it a ridiculousl amount of power in one machine) do you think yourself that if in the UK if it was possible to per say obtain a AR10 that nearly every other man and his dog would have one?
