stubby 175
I currently work for one of the big firms, whilst doing "privates" on the side, the local private jobs could never keep me working full time alone Quote Link to post

mole trapper 1,693
Think It's more a case of where you are geographically, we are seriously stacked out and cherry picking jobs, but I think the south west is generally a bit better off, in the main because of the retiree population and the wealthy second home owners making for a more bouyant economic climate. d6k 11
Every pesty will tell you the same it's very competitive for job work, in my city there are more pestles that pests, everyone's cutting prices doing £30 quid visits and paying stupid amouts in add words upto £6 a click for some terms. I do ok must mostly from repeat work and the contracts I have built up over the years. If you can sell you will do ok being a good salesman is much more important that knowing how to kill stuff. Picking up the odd pub and takeaway is easy but to earn enough to pay the bills you need to go for the bigger stuff which means suiting up and talking to company big wigs... Job work for me has taken a dip this year still doing ok but it's not going to get any easier over the next few years. This is one of the reasons I'm plowing thousands into my new online sales business. Good luck Quote Link to post
