Typical fecking politicians who want their MBE and big expense fund to fund their love flats in upper class cites .

A fecking scum bag drug addict goes out and kills a toddler with a air weapon (God bless the little toddler. The addict should be left to the toddlers family IMO) and then a law is brought in to make air weapons need to be on licence.

Did the idiot that bought the law in think that a drug addict will get hold of a air weapon with or without a licence. There will always be people that will not give up their weapons with or without this new BS law.

Its the good people that suffer here, not the scum bags.

Same as FAC licences in the same senario. Do the murders that use fire arms in their gangs and robberies bother if they have a FAC or not? Of course not. Do people still get robbed and shot and killed? Of course they do.

We all suffer again for the scum bags and politicians.

Makes me angry and feel i need to hear my views.

Si.

But thats out of how many people who own an air rifle and use it correctly? must be 100s of thousands compared to the number that cause a problem with them.

Eventually it will all be like Ireland where you need a licence for all air rifles, which dosnt bother me as im sure if you have a genuine reason you will be allowed to continue using them

Just because a druggie shot someone with an air rifle .. its obviously the air rifles fault and not because he was smacked off his t!ts on drugs!

its far easier to appease the public by picking on the easy targets, ive asked the questions before and never had replies. what % of legally owned weapons are used in crime ect. a gun wether air rifle or magnum can do nobody any harm untill the trigger is pulled, its the idiot who picks it up in malice who the legislaion needs to address and the influx of illegal weapons from eastern europe.

I'm not innocent in the eyes of the law but for a good few years I've sorted myself out found a hobby I really do enjoy it has helped me and my dad get on rather than fight where does this leave people like me I'm just supposed to give my rifle up and a big part of my life the only thing airgun shooting has done for me is good I'm sorry for the poor family but like others have said the gun won't go off by its self

MacCaskill was on the Scottish news today talking about it and it does look as though it will go through the Scottish Parliament in the next couple of years.

I don't think us guys that do pest control or are members of clubs have too much to worry about. We will need a license and will have to prove that we have active permissions/references/club membership etc but other than that i think most of us will be ok.....unless maybe you have a poor criminal record.

It's the guys that have air rifles in their possession and have no reason to have them that will bear the brunt of this legislation.
